We've recently run into a problem with our wireless router (D-link DI524):
Currently our wireless router is in a 2nd floor room above our garage (the Den), which is isolated by cement walls. The signal works fine around the 2nd floor and ground levels of the house but does not reach the basement, where the signal is too low.
If we move the router to the basement, the signal works throughout the house except in the Den because of the cement surrounding it.
We've tried to move the router in a central location on the main floor, but the signal again does not work in the Den.
I've read that you can buy another wireless router to act as a signal repeater or something like that.
You will need to get the network service into your den using wire. This can be done by either:
a) running ethernet cable from the router into the den, and just using a wired connection while in the den
b) running ethernet cable from the den's wifi access point (or router) to the main router for the rest of the house.
c) Using a repeater system that carries the network signal through the power lines into the den
