Default Wireless & Thick Walls

I am looking for the best router for thick walls. Router to be located in the basement, and need excellent connectivity on third floor of an antic building. What do you recommend. Present router has weak connectivity, and I can easily pick neighbours signals strongly from all floors.

I live in an adobe house. I get it.

can you:
  • run cables to the windows
  • point antennas up and down
  • run APs on every floor?
