Default WRT54GC Trouble

I am having trouble hooking a linksys to a Westell 6100 DSL router from Verizon. Internet works if all I have connected is the DSL router. But If I try to add the Linksys then I loose connection. I ran the linksys easy connect tool from the website but it could not detect the router. I have tried resetting the router and I get the same result.

This is a XP Home computer. I don't have alot of experience with home.

Any ideas that you guys might have are greatly appreciated.

Thaks in advance.
