Default 3 Have Changed Their Tariff Migration Policy

You now have to either extend your contract by 6 months or pay a £25
surcharge to lower your tariff.

Would this be classed as a change to T&Cs and would I be able to
exercise my right of cancellation due to the T&Cs changing.

Thanks

That'll depend on whether it is being applied to all contracts or just
to new sign-ups as of a specific date.

A story on mobile today suggests the new policy on "3" is only for new
sign-ups and anyone who upgrades.

They also report Orange are introducing a similar restriction, in that
new customers can only downgrade once within the minimum term of their
contract, and even then can only downgrade to the next lowest tariff
level.

I guess they are doing it to cut the number of people taking high
value contracts to take advantage of cashback deals who then drop to
the minimum tariff after 6 or 9 months.
