Default 3 Network in Northern Ireland

I have been looking at a few 3 offers of late, with a view to moving to
them from O2. Their website shows good network coverage here in NI but
whenever I scan for networks using my existing phone I never see them
mentioned. Should I see them listed separately or do they use another
provider's network?

TIA

To find them your handset needs to support WCDMA, They also use Orange
(and presumably temporarily O2) as roaming partners.

You would only see them showing as 3 if you currently use a 3G phone, they
roam onto Orange when out of 3G coverage.

Thanks for the replies in this thread. My phone is not 3G capable so I now
see the reason why 3 doesn't show.
