Default 6233 being weird

My Nokia 6233 is trying to make me think I'm going off my head!

I have some text messages saved as templates, every so often they disappear.
I know I haven't deleted them, but when I got to use the template it isn't
there.

Also when you create a text message and use recent contacts sometimes a
contact isn't there although I know I had sent them a text in the last few.
It isn't the case that I'd sent so many that they had dropped off the list.

And lastly it refuses to recognise one of my contacts when I get a message
from them, it just lists the number. I've tried deleted the contact, saving
them to the phone instead of the sim card, but no avail. I've also saved
the number from the message so that it is in exact same format but nope.

Anyone else had similar problems? (I've had it since Sept and I first
noticed it playing up in about January)

That is commonly because the number exists in more than one contact -
e.g. if you had your work telephone number saved both as "Work" and
under your name as part of your work business card then neither will
normally be shown when you get an incoming call from the work number.

It will do that I f you have the number stored twice anywhere. Also,
bear in mind that the phone only uses the last 4 or 5 digits to
determine caller ID, so if you have two people with the same last 4 or 5
digits then the phone cannot make a decision and just displays the
number.

This may sound daft, but how full is your phone's memory? Do you use your
SIM phonebook as well as your "phone"book?

BTW, polite suggestion to put your replies at the bottom of the message, as
opposed to top-posting. Nothing more annoying than reading the answer before
the question...

Regards

Jon.

Thanks Jon,

I don't use newsgroups too often and never really worked out the top posting
thing, always thought it was to do with replying to an earlier message in
the thread!

No only use the sim and it is only 113 used and 137 free. It only seems to
do it for this one contact.

it is the random deletion of text message templates that is more annoying.
