Default Any O2 contract peeps taken up their broadband offer?

Thinking of getting the 16MB service as current provider can only manage 2MB
and if I upgrade with them they say it will only go to 5.5MB!

O2 say they can provide "up to" 16MB which I cant really lose out on cause
anything above 2MB will be a bonus, PLUS its 7.99 a month cheaper AND upload
speeds are 1.5MB along with unlimited usage (subj to Fair Use)

Mainly found positive comments in general but wondered if anyone here has
had connection issues or downtime.

Sorry, forgot the OT as originally was only posting to the "mobile" group.

I went for the cheaper tariff and was connected early november 2007. The
speed of my connection is similar to the speed I was getting from my
previous ISP (Idnet), about 6MB. I have no complaints at all about the
service.

Good thing bout O2 is, if you don't get the speed you're paying for,
they will reduce your charges down to the relevent package

I don't get this. Orange 16MB is 7.99 cheaper then Orange 2MB?

How can that be?

Especially as the 2MB option is nominally free. And FWIW, it's as good as
you might expect for 'free'

I am getting confused here over the terminology used. If you are
referring to the download speed then time has to be included in the
equation. Download speed is usually in Mb/s (Megabits per second) NOT
MB (MegaBytes). The amount of data downloaded would be in MegaBytes,
this is NOT the download speed.
O2, on their web site shorten this to 'Megs' but they don't mean MB
they mean Mb/s.

At a guess I would say it is because he doesn't mention Orange and intends
switching to O2 (whom he is not currently with).
