Default Anyone know anything about CLONE SIM cards?

Hi

My problem is that I want my car phone to use the same number as my Nokia mobile
phone.

T-Mobile don't offer this service.

Would a cloned SIM run the car phone while the real sim is used in the original
Nokia mobile?

Would both phones ring?

Would T-Mobile know?

Anybody done it?

Where do I get a clone SIM card?

Yes they do.....not that I can find a link.

Perhaps "t-mobile multi-sim" may yield some results on google.

If you could successfully do it, which you can't without destroying the
original, yes.

NoIt's likely that neither phone would ring.

Yes. And would almost certainly cut you off.

Not that I know of.

CLining only worked on very very old SIMs. With a modern SIM you have
more chance of winning the lottery.

No point but T-Mobile don't offer this service!

I've been thinking about this, and asked O2 - no

As previous remarks, I don't think you can copy modern SIMs and have a
significant chance of destroying them if you try

I've decided that as I don't use the phone much in the car, and won't
initiate calls while I'm moving, I'll probably stick with an old Nokia
car kit for the 3310 (also fits 3510i which I still have 2 of), and
forward incoming calls to a spare payg SIM in one of those phones.
This will also be fine abroad, as I then forward O2 calls to an IoM
SIM

This will save me spending £100+ (self-fit) to £215 (installed) on a
new car kit, which would pay for quite a bit of call diversion.

Or maybe a secondhand 6310 and a bluetooth set-up ...?

With conditional call forwarding set on the first phone, eg on no
answer or busy, and the second on auto-answer, this is pretty much
like the twin-SIM functionality would be anyway

Ok, sorry, it won't be much of an idea for high users ...

As other people have already pointed out, the cloning idea is a non-starter.
However, and admittedly it's only available on Business accounts (please
don't ask what you need to be a business, one of the other O regulars - Jon
or Simon? is probably better placed to answer that), Orange Single Number
sounds like your solution...

I know someone who uses the service and it works well.

Jon.
