Default Arabic Language Support

Hi -
Shot in the dark here, maybe someone can help me. I'm trying to find
out something about mobile phones made with language support for the
Arab world. On such a phone (any make), when entering Arabic
characters using the 12 key keypad, what characters are available on
each key?

Thanks

Try Google.

Nokia seem to sell them, and you can get after market key pad covers
cheaply.

Although the precise form of Arabic script characters depends on what
preceeds or follows it, essentially they are the same phonetic consonants as
in western languages (but no capitals), so probably all of them.

Why not down load a sample user manual and find out?

Actually, I have found this information remarkably hard to come by. I
spent half the day with Google before posting this message. You would
think it would be in a user manual, and it might be in some, but I
have not yet seen one that had that detail. Yes, there are pictures
of Arabic language keypads. That's actually the best information I
could find, and it's not much to go on. I contacted Motorola, I was
told that the information is secret and they would not disclose it.
And that they do not put this information in their user manuals, I was
told. Not sure why...
I'm not an Arabic reader, so I need some information in a simple form,
as in (for English) "ABC" on "2", "DEF" on "3", and so on. It's very
hard to find.

Thanks

Perhaps find an Arabic-speaking forum on the web where you might be able to
ask? It sounds like the sort of thing that's obvious to a native speaker
with a phone in their hand, but not to someone who doesn't speak Arabic.
(You probably won't find many Arabic newsgroups due to the character set
issues)
