Default Asda Mobile PAYG vs Opera Mini

Yeah I know, thats ASDA price....just switched a PAYG account to ASDA
Mobile. Using the settings sent from the SE website for the W810i/ASDA
Mobile WAP settings I can access using the internal browser (and re-
installed Opera Mini using those settings) but for whatever reason
OperaMini says "Can't find a connection"

I switched to some manually installed settings (there are WAP settings
and Web settings). When attempting the web settings it gets the same
response. As I can access the net in general using either setting ASDA
basically say it's a SE or Opera issue.

Anyone sucessfully using Opera Mini 4.1 on Asda Mobile in the UK? (I
guess thats why it's 20p/Mb as they know no-one will use much data
*sigh*

Thanks in advance

These are the settings I used on a SE C702 - worked really well with opera
mini.

There are two possible settings in Opera. Go into Menu, Tools->Settings,
Network. Protocol can be either HTTP or Socket - try the other.

Usually Opera notices the network has been pulled from under it (typically
this happens when roaming) and does an automatic network configure as it did
when you installed it. As a last resort you could reinstall it, but you'd
lose bookmarks etc.

I don't have an ASDA SIM, but I encountered the identical problem
installing Opera Mini with Orange on a Nokia 6300.

It turned out that I needed the WAP settings to download Opera Mini,
but then the internet settings to use it ( or vice versa ). Just get
both settings, and use whichever works for you !

I got mine from the Nokia website, but yours will presumably need to
come from SE.

HTH.
