Default Best wifi phones?

Hi all,

I've currently got a o2 XDA Mini S which has had no end of problems,
and to be frank I'm getting quite sick of it. It's too big and clunky,
and the styluses (stylii?) drop out frequently.

However I'm quite used to having a wifi enabled phone.

I always liked the Nokia Symbian software. Is the N80 a decent phone to
have? Is the browser good?

Or can anyone suggest a phone which isn't too huge with quite a few
bells and whistles?

TIA.
Rachel.

WiFi phones are a waste of money.

I recently got a Noki E61. I like it a lot.

It isn't perfect, but very close. Also gets very good reeiws from most
magazines, etc.

The size isn't for everyone, but if you like a large screen and want a
usable QWERTY keyboard, then it's a good option.

Hmm, I had the N80 and whilst the browser on the phone was okay (if a
bit slow on WiFi), the handset it's self just doesn't seem to work well
as a phone. Also, the camera is pants and the phone feels big and bulky
too. Also, from what I have seen on this forum, as well as my own
personal experience, there have been a lot of problems with this phone.
I think that Orange are recalling them or something!

See: http://www.mobiletoday.co.uk/content...sp?men=1&sub=6

As for other phones that have WiFi, well. I would have said that I have
heard some good stuff about the o2 XDA Mini S, until I read your post
:-) but I hear that the SE P990 is a decent phone.

In my opinion, the current WiFi phones on the market are just not ready
yet!

Hope this helps...

There was a lot of problems with the first firmware it shipped with (v3)
but the latest firmware (v4) seems to have solved most of the problems. The
camera still isn't great though according to user reports.

It's built-in browser is ok for accosional use and it has some unique
features (the mini-map and visual history) that make browsing a lot easier
but it also lacks some essential features (no page up / page down, no
multiple windows browsing, no open link in new window, no fit-to-width
mode, no wap browsing...) that make it not that suitable if you're going to
use it extensively. The commercial Opera Mobile for S60 does a much better
job. That said, given its tiny screen, it really is only for occasional web
browsing, you won't want to spend hours to browse on that.

The E61 is really good for web browsing, especially with Opera Mobile. But
then, it's a bit large (but very thin too so it fits easily in a jean's
pocket). Since i've got it, I hardly switch on my PC at home anymore. It's
much easier and faster more convenient to check my emails and my daily
forums and blogs on my E61.

The P990 looks like a promizing device but all the reviews I've read have
pointed out that the current firwmare is still really buggy. Unless the OP
is an early adopter (read: alpha tester), I would wait until a fixed
version is released before investing in that.
