Default Blackberry 7130g data synchronisation cable

Hi everybody

I bought the above some months ago. Recently I decided to try to backup
my data. First problem: the cable I have is a USB "A" to mini-USB "B"
cable, but the appropriate slot in the phone is larger than the mini
USB bit so where do I put it???? Do I need some kind of adapter?. I
have used the same slot for charging my phone without any problems.
The second concern is the Blackberry desktop manager program. I am
used to Palm desktop where you can see your calendar, addresses etc.
This does not seem to happen with Blackberry so if/when I finally
manage to back data up to my computer how will I be able to view it on
there?

Many thanks for help

Matthew

Apologies I have now realised that the charger cable can be
disconnected from the electrical plug part and this is in fact the USB
A to mini B cable mentioned in my original question. I am not sure what
the other cable is as the "B" part is even smaller.
I have managed to back up but note the backup file cannot be viewed as
it is .ipd file and I do not have a program to open it. How can I view
the data on my laptop?

I'm not sure, I've never had to try it on a blackberry yet.

If you are running the Desktop Manager then you are half way there -
since it is what links to Outlook (not Outlook Express). In DM help look
for the section "PIM synchronisation".
