Blackberry roaming on 3

I have a Blackberry on 3 UK. Does use of Blackberry email and BBM count
towards data costs when on international roaming, or is it an integral part
of the Blackberry service? I know that internet, tethering, apps etc is all
chargeable data when roaming, but I recall that the core BB services *may*
not be.

Any definitive info would be greatly appreciated!

If your Blackberry has wi-fi switch the mobile data off and use [free] wi-fi
when in coverage.
