Default Blackberry Roaming Data Usage

Hi,

I looking at getting a Blackberry from O2 on the Internet service (so
no BES), and am trying to figure out what my international roaming
charges might be, as I will be charged on a per MB basis.

Say I receive on average 100 emails per day, and the average email size
is say 20KB (totally arbitary, is this a fair guess?), that would give
me about 2Mb.

What are the best ways to keep down the data usage. I beleive you can
set filters to limit what comes down. If I limit it to only download
the email headers can the Blackberry then pull down the full email on
an ad-hoc basis? What is the size per email for just the header? If it
is say 2k then my daily usage would be 200k...

Obviously I will have to be careful on downloading attachments, will it
tell me the attachment size before I download it?

Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

Ian

May not answer all your questions, but you may find
http://o2.blackberry.co.uk quite useful.

BlackBerrys use very little in terms of data.

There is very great compression employed. Furthermore, attachements are
only downloaded if you specifically choose to do so, on a mer email
basis.
