Default BlackBerry System Messages

Hello,

Does anyone know why these messages keep appearing on my BlackBerry;
well actually BlackBerrys!

Subject:
RIM_bca28a80-e9c0-11d1-87fe-00600811c6b2

Body:
This message is used to carry data between the BlackBerry
handheld and an associated server. Please do not delete,
move or respond to this message - it will be processed by
the server.

I've spoke to Orange three times on the phone who've said:

1) Phone Blackberry (who I later found aren't customer facing)
2) They'd reset something on my account
3) I needed to remove the Desktop component in the Settings menu

None of these things have worked and I'm at a real loss now! Orange just
seem to be fumbling in the dark. This doesn't happen daily, but once a
month for a few days I seem to get loads of these things through :-(

Also having the problem on a Vodafone BlackBerry now so I'm sure this
isn't Orange related.

It's just a service book and keeps your blackberry up to date,
it's not a problem, it's just software updates.

It's a problem when you get 40-50 a day! ;-)

Any idea how they can be stopped?

Well now you say that then yes it does sound like a problem!

Try logging into your admin site and clicking on send service
book, I know from vodafone it's www.mobileemail.vodafone.net,
not sure what it is for orange, that could send you the one
you need and then stop it from doing any more, other than that
I would highly recommend a hard reset.

Remove the battery without turning the device off.

Remove the sim card.

Put the battery back in, it should do a full reboot, then
switch it off and put the sim card back in and battery,
hopefully that should fix it, if not try a manual roam.

Depending upon which device you have go to network settings
and switch them from automatic to manual, wait for it to bring
up the selecting of networks, select anything other than your
home network, if you're on voda choose o2 if you're on orange
choose voda, anything so long as it's not the home network, it
should error and switch back over to the home network, if not,
do this again, but this time select the home network.

It sounds to me like you've not updated on the network for
ages and ages and the device isn't acknowledging to the
network that the service book has been received so it keeps
sending it again and again.

Let me know how you get on, Cheers!

You've installed the wrong option for the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
Do not install the "Redirector"

Uninstall it & don't choose the same option when you reinstall it.
Choose the "BlackBerry Internet Service" option.

Hi Jono,

Thanks for the reply!

At about 10am I removed the software completely, then reinstalled and in
the settings chose the Internet Service option.

However.... The first system message of the day has just been received 5
minutes ago!

Have also tried xCx's idea of resending the service books but that
doesn't appear to have helped either.

:-(

Driving me mad!!

Any more ideas?!
