Default Bluetooth advertising

I've been interested in Bluetooth advertising for our local pub, happy hour
coming events and the like,
I have been on google but all I seem to be able to find is commercial kit
http://www.bloozy.co.uk/ like that.

Does anyone here know if its possible to build your own with a pc and a
Bluetooth dongle ?

TIA

Brit

I've got a little program for Palm palmtops called 'Bluespam'. Seems to
work in short tests.

That said, if I sat down in a pub and my 'phone started rolling off the
table with Bluetooth messages of their hot new offers I'd be out the
door like a shot. Seems like a wonderful way to piss off customers.
What's wrong with posters by the bar?

It is possible, but I am not sure how well it will work these days as most
phones silently wait for the owner to accept the connection. I don't think
any just accept a message in the way that the old 6310i used to.

A linux both running bluez could certainly be scripted to do such things.

And even if it was to work, you would probably p*** off a lot of your
customers, its called SPAM.

What do you mean, used to..?! I have three 6310i's and none of them "just
accept" a message. It's called turning bluetooth off, any phone can do
it..!

But if bluetooth is (and visible) on they do accept the message and give the
message alert tone, my 6230 waits for me to accept the incoming connection. If
I am not looking at the display I will never know.

The litten tree near me installs a program on your phone with some
advertising crap and free downloads but that was last year I allowed them to
do that just to see what it was. I turn it off when I go in there now. (its
only pub/night scene in my town)

I dislike spam as much as anyone but I would think it was quite novel to get
a bluetooth local advert. Well the first couple of times anyway.

The most advantage of the Bluetooth advertising is Proximity, Precision, low price, and high absorbency. Advertising company have to spread the server to obtain their anticipant impact.
So besides the technology, there is some other requirements for the server.
1) low price(reduce the cost); 2)samll size (install at anywhere);3)easy to updating content; 4)convenient for managing; 5)easy to operating
