can't add Contact to a Category on K800i - how?

I'm switching from a Nokia 6630 to a SE K800i and have been used to
being able on the 6630 to add Contacts to Groups and for each Group to
have its own ring tone.

I thought something similar was possible on the K800i achieved by
assigning Categories to Contacts. But I can't find a way to assign a
Category to a Contact. Can some kind person give me a clue please.

To set up groups - press menu/scroll to contacts and enter, then press
options (MAKE SURE that "New Contact" is highlighted) then you can select
"options" press that and select groups followed by new.

This is the same way when you want to send a message to the group!

Nowhere near as easy as Nokia and took me a while to work out ;(

Not sure about setting ringtone for groups tho

It's called groups, not categories. It is there, I use it regularly
myself.

Thanks - so once I've added people to a Group can I then display just
those Contacts in some way or is there another use for SE Groups other
than being able to send SMS to all members of a Group?

Some things are easier, some things less so, in a few weeks I suspect
I'll find the 6630 way of doing things strange.

I've concluded that it's just as easy to set a particular ringtone for
each Work contact as it is to add each one to a Work Group.
