Mobiles in Cuba can't be called from mobiles and landlines here in
the UK. Some 'technical' problem for almost TWO weeks !
(I've tried using Orange and Vodafone sets)
Mobiles in Cuba can call out to the UK, no problem.

Cuba's government does what the hell it likes. In a country where long
prison sentences are the usual reward for independent thought,
problems with incoming calls are pretty trivial...

So, you've got no idea, but you thought you'd make a dumb
political statement instead ?

Anyone who expects communications into or out of a totalitarian regime
to run smoothly is bound to be disappointed. I'm just surprised that
you're surprised.

Well I'm sure if you take your ignorant, off-topic , political rant to
the appropriate newsgroup you'll find someone tolerant enough to put
you right. I'd do it myself but I'm afraid I don't start at your level.

Are. you. really. surprised. that. calling. Cuba. can. be. difficult?
And yes, I know that it's terribly chic these days, but they still do
lock people up in Cuba for thinking too much - or for saying the wrong
things on the phone. Guantanamo Bay is probably the less repressive
regime on the island ...

It's logged as a problem with Orange technical, so its not just you.
Other than that I don't know much more.
