Can anyone please advise or recommend on cashback experiences.
What companies honour them and what companies to aviod.

Onestopphoneshop have a bad record (including doing me out of £35).
Mobileshop have honoured all of their cashbacks to me.

I have used Buy Mobile Phones and Carphonewarehouse more than once
without any problems. The important thing is to read the T&C's and make
absolutely sure that you comply and never miss a date because any of
them will most likely use any excuse they can to avoid paying.

They don't have a bad record with me. They paid all my cashbacks
promptly and I've just taken out another deal with them.

aren't Mobileshop currently stalling on both cashback claims and
referral payments?

Mobileshop are pretty good, but they are slow payers. They're also good
because they send you an email confirmation to say that they've received the
cashback claim.

However, Mobileshop, like a lot of other etailers are facitng tough times in
the market and a lot of the network operators are looking closely to
etailers with high churn rates (those that subscribe for a cashback deal and
then terminate as soon as possible).

Dialaphone is suffering because their customers do not provide high levels
of profit to the network operators. Many etailers are falling into this
category and it become problematic in the future.

Some are resorting to cold calling tactics to OAPs pushing the hard sell
(not implying that Mobileshop are). Others use various other techniques.

Seconded. Anyone taking out a cashback for the first time, should use
CarPhoneWarehouse if they are unsure. The main reasons are:
1) CPW usually give 60 days (as opposed to 30 days) to send in your bill.
If you have bill printing problems with the network operator, the extra time
is invaluable.
2) CPW do not require a form (unless something has changed recently) where
it contains vouchers which if you lose, you're buggered.
3) CPW do not use underhand tactics such as if you do not claim one
cashback, you lose the right to claim subsequent cashbacks.

Whilst CPW do not always have the best cashback deals, they are the safest
followed by their child company e2save followed by their other child company
OneStopPhoneShop.

E2Save are definately better than OneShopPhoneShop.

Agreed, my wife and I have two contracts which commenced on the same
day, one via e2Save and the other via OSPS.

Both contracts have cashback via redemption at 4, 8 and 12 months.
Naturally, we post both claims on the same day.

e2Save are at least 10 days ahead of OSPS in honouring the claims based
on our experiences over the past 8 months.

A few weeks ago I posted an article about onestopphoneshop who sent back
my cash back claim because mistakenly they thought I had sent it in too
early.
They agreed to pay if I sent it again.
I said no. I have fulfilled my part of the contract.
They said they would not pay without resubmission. They wanted the
voucher back.
I made an online county court claim.
They agreed to pay my cashback and the £30 court fee.
I think the economics of cashback is they rely on a high percentage not
claiming at all or getting rejected. This is how they manage the offers
they keep sending me of 12 months free line and minutes on a 12 month
contract.
If you stick to the letter of the agreement you will get your money.

Nos problem with e2save.
I'm on my second contract with e2save - the best deals are to be had in the
clearance phones.
They also pay a nice referral rate too. So you only need to tell a few
people about the good deal you just got and it pays for your annual costs.
The cheques don't come back that quick (I mean not return post, usually
within 2 weeks).

I had a similar experience with OSPS, who returned my claim (I was used
to dealing with The Link, who seem to go entirely by your billing
date).

In my case, I purchased a phone from OSPS on October 2nd, billing date
October 4th - I duly submitted a cashback claim soon after my 4th bill
ie January 4th. However, it was returned to me as cashback was not due
until 4 months after the *connection date* ie February 2nd. I duly
resubmitted it (worth the extra £1 postage for the £120 cashback) and
was promptly paid.

I personally would go for either The Link or OSPS or e2save.

Take photocopies of the receipt immediately (in case it fades).

Always send off the claim as soon as you can after it's due and always
use Recorded Delivery.

An earlier post referred to mobileshop. They were a bit slow to pay
but, after sending them an email querying the non-payment I did get
credited. I think that they are OK. Currently I am on a CPW deal but,
providing reports are still OK, I would deal with mobileshop again.
Btw noticed that mobileshop's boss was was on BBC World/News 24's
'Click' this week.

Remove 'no_spam_' from email address.

Mobileshop refused one of my cashbacks as the post office delivered
my claim a few days late, since which I now have to use registered delivery

I won't be using Mobileshop in future as their window of claim is far too
narrow

I'm still waiting on another cashback payment from Mobileshop,
sent registered mail.

They seem determined to destroy any customer confidence
