Default Cashback Problem .

I got a Cashback deal a few months ago and I was due to send my first
voucher back within the 14 days following the 17th Sept with my first
4 Orange Bills ,the penalty for late submission being that would get
paid nothing throughout the contract . I clean forgot until it was
nearly time for the next bill on 17th October ....I thought ....What
do I do now ? I decided to send the 2nd to 5th Bill and hope that they
wouldn't notice so I stapled them all together with about 6 staples
across the top and posted them on Friday .

This morning I got an e-mail saying that my cashback application had
been accepted and that a BACS payment would be made within the next
two weeks .

Problem is with the other vouchers ....Do I continue to send them in a
month late ( which will mean the final one will only be accompanied by
three bills and might not get paid ) or do I send the next one in when
it was actually due and send the 5th Bill AGAIN along with the next
three bills and that will put it back on track .?

Yes, some handle it differently.

How can you send the 5th bill again if you've already sent it in...
presumably they only accept original bills? That's a usual gotcha.

I suspect you were very lucky to get it accepted - they are usually on
the lookout for any excuse to avoid having to make payment. You'll be
very lucky indeed if they don't notice a second error.

What would make you reluctant to do this when you are happy to raise the
broader issue on Usenet?

Probably just being cautious ...But aside from that I can't see what
advantage anyone would have in knowing which retailer it was . ..I
don't see how it helps to anwer the question I posed ...If someone can
explain that then I'd reconsider .

Well I would send the next set correctly, with a duped 5th bill. Can't
believe that they'll go back and check the first cashback application -
they'll know they paid you for it, so it must have been valid - why
would they check it again?

Wish you'd tell us which company it was - being not as anal as most such
outfits they sound maybe worth using

It might prompt anyone who has had a similar experience with the same
retailer to tell you how they solved (or didn't solve) the problem.

I'd love to know who the retailer is.
I suspect most people here have a vague notion of which retailers are
good or bad to deal with on cashbacks. This notion is based on stories
from people like yourself who've dealt with them.
Hence why we'd like to know who who it was.

I've had valid claims rejected by 'good' companies (part of CPW). I
still call them good because they sorted the claims out eventually.

To answer your query we'd need to know what company and what
particular deal. e2save have their own 'standard' cashbacks schemes
but also have 'price-match' deals which have stricter conditions.

You say the BACS payment will be made in the next two weeks, don't hold your
breath. If my experience with CPW was anything to go by, despite complying
with all the rules and many "The cheque has been sent" quotes, it took me
over 250 days to get it finally settled! So just because they say the BACS
payment will be within two weeks, don't believe it until it is actually in
your account.

I won't. I've been down that road with mobileshop.com and ended up
taking my final payment about 2-3 months late as an Argos voucher incl
an extra 10% just to get my money
