Cell to cell tap...

hi guys!

Where can I read about cell to cell wiretaps. My CDMA phone went
"missing" and was found after 3 days later.
I know this sounds weird , but I have read that there are cell to cell
wiretaps. Where can I read about them.

What's this got to do with UK mobiles..? CDMA is a US system (mostly,
anyway) - it certainly isn't used here.

Sorry, the only car kit I have any experience of is the CARK-91 for the
Nokia 6310i.

I guess a pedant might point out that UK 3G UMTS phones are CDMA
phones too, which I guess makes me a pedant. I first read this
post (different poster, same topic) on alt.cellular.verizon several
weeks ago, however, so you are correct that this particular post
is pretty far from on-topic.

I wouldn't call you a pedant, but how many "3" users actually know that
the system is CDMA..? I must admit I didn't.

Marketing? I suspect Qualcomm, which developed the US system, likes to
advertise "CDMA" because they have a lot of CDMA patents. I suspect the
other UMTS companies don't like to advertise "CDMA" because Qualcomm has
a lot of CDMA patents. The issue is the source of at least one dispute;
Nokia is still in court fighting it out with Qualcomm over Qualcomm's
licensing fees for their patents covering the UMTS air interface.
