Default Changes to Virgin Mobile SIM-only 300/300

Just had a text message from Virgin which says:

"From 28/04/08 mins and txts will not rollover. From 23/06/08 mobile
internet in the UK will cost 0.2p/Kb, not 0.5p. See
virginmobilepeople.com/300300 or call 789"

The http://www.virginmobilepeople.com/300300 page talks about the tariff
costing £10 but I presume this is aimed at those on the package who also
have Virgin Media broadband/TV/phone lines at home because I've always
paid £15 for this package.

Yes - I have the £10 one which requires a min of one service from
Virginmedia
No text or notification about roll-over or anything else for that matter.
Why don't you consider VM broadband and it will effectively be
subsidised by £5 once you take into account the reduction in your
300/300 tariff!

....and I just received another!

"We're sorry, we sent you a text recently by mistake. Your Virgin
Mobile minutes and messages will still roll over every month, just like
normal"

http://virginmobilepeople.com/300300/ is unchanged, so perhaps this
means that those paying £15pm without other Virgin services can
rollover, and those paying £10pm *with* other services can't.

Another possibility is that existing customers like yourself will continue
to get the rollover texts and minutes, while new customers won't.

Well, I am on the £10 deal and I didn't get a second text to say roll
over would still be in place.
They also stated that data, per kilobyte, is being reduced in price
from 0.5p to 0.2p. That us still TWO THOUSAND POUNDS per GB!!
When you consider that '3' let you have 2GB for £5 it is still not at
all attractive. Effectively they are saying is that they want some
more spend above the £10 level. It is not what I wanted. I was looking
for some data to be included in the £10 in leiu of reduction in texts.
Now they have effectively reduced the texts and minutes by banishing
rollover but have not compensated with some data. There is nothing to
stop them offering 1GB in with the £10 as an option against loss of
some minutes or texts. Data is still way, way overpriced and I will
just continue with using 'dial up' internet.

I'm an existing customer and haven't received the 2nd text sadly.

I don't have any other Virgin services though so maybe that's the reason.
Still, can't complain at £10 a month for 300/300..
