Yes, if you are still in contract I believe that Orange expect you to pay
for any remaining term plus the unlocking cost.

As far as I'm aware, this is still a testpoint unlock. Although there are a
couple of solutions claiming direct unlock without testpoint, but I've seen
mixed results from testing them.

In all seriousness, the unlocking market has got its fair share of sharks
and very few of the established and knowledgable unlockers remain as the
market has been swamped with cheaper and cheaper outfits that take much of
the easy to unlock business leaving profits lower and little room for
manouvre when it comes to purchasing new hardware for newer handsets.

If you're uncomfortable with your phone being dismantled and the shielding
cut (which I definitely would be), then pay Orange for the unlock code.
