Now that easyMobile is going under, I'm using up my final money and thinking
of going elsewhere. I have an O2 simcard that has never been used. The
information on the tariff's on the website does not match that in the book
and therefore I'm inclined to go with the website version. However, they
have 3 tariffs on there; Text Anytime, Talk Anytime and Talk Offpeak. I
want to use Text Anytime, but which one of these is the default tariff? In
other words, if I put the simcard in my phone, top up with £10 or £15, which
one is the one I get? I hope somebody can help!

Virgin were sending out FREE sim cards, up to 2 per address with £5 credit
on each. They are far far cheaper to use than other networks and there is
no difference in coverage. People that say there is are just annoyed they
are paying more and now look a bit silly!

The problem with Virgin is the price of cross network calls - 35p a minute.
GPRS charges are also very pricey with Virgin.
A better deal, for cross network calls, is T-Mobile Everyone (GPRS capped at
£1 a day) or even Tesco.

Coverage IS different. Maybe you just don't go to enough different places!

Re original post, to my great chagrin discovered default is the Text
tarrif. Had a SIM set up on the talk tarrif (£10 get 50 all time X-net
bonus mins before your credit gets touched) then ported over a number.
Result credit wiped out and tarrif set on default as text. Took a few
calls to sort out but O2 did refund costs of calls etc.
