Default Disassembling a Motorola M3788

Have anyone ever pulled one of these old bricks apart? I want to
change corroded power connectors for many of these old beasts.

There are four screws to unscrew on the back which is easy enough, but
after doing that it doesn't seem to want to come apart, no matter how
much pulling I do. I have checked for any hidden screws under the
stickers and there doesn't seem to be any.

Any ideas?

It's been years since i dismantled one of those, i think you'll find a screw
under the serial number sticker?

You can't value your time as worth much, messing around with junk.
At least the M3788 is dualband, unlike the previous C / D520

Yes you're right, I found it in the end. Have around 300 x C520/M3788
from a charity collection, half of which are leaking battery acid and
have broken/corroded away battery terminals.

They are a well built German/UK made phone, not rubbish (like early
Sagems). I will be seeking to make good working M3788's out of them
and put the damaged parts on the Monobands. The M3788s are pretty good
for reception and also they will take AA batteries (which have a long
shelf life) , so they are useful as emergency phones for the car.

Regarding the battery terminals, do you have any idea what I should
clean them with to prevent them corroding any further, and to clean
any existing corrosion off?

To take AA cells you need the optional expanded back case,
the standard NiMh battery consists or 4x long AAA cells

If you know of a source of cheap battery packs I'd be interested,
as i have a use for the long 800mAh AAA cells used in them.

Any acid (eg vinegar) then water. Then a little vaseline when dry.
