It might be worth a look here to see if anyone else has had the same
problem with the company involved:

Who is it btw ? - and if the company try to say you signed up via a
website, tell them they need to be able to prove that to satisfy their
obligations under the Data Protection Act, and that you're taking them
to court and will require the site logs to verify the signup - and that
the destruction of the logs will destroy their case.
Sadly, this blatant THEFT is virtually ignored by anyone in authority
due to the small individual amounts - which can add up to a massive sum
over a lot of defrauded non-customers.
