DO ANY SERVICE PROVIDERS BLOCK PREMIUM SMS?

After being charged another large bill because of premium txt messages that
Orange
insist I have signed up to which they will not refund me for I would like to
know if
any service providers block incoming premium sms. It seems orange isn't
willing
to block a txt message that costs me £2.50 ago...

I thought the legal maximum premimum rate SMS charge was £1.50/text

MSPs make far to much money out of premium rate calls/texts to even consider
blocking them /

t-mobile most certainly do block premium rate sms. very good after i got
fleeced for £125 ! ! in one month !

Are there not normally instructions with the texts on how to stop them?
Something like text STOP to a short code that is supplied.

Sending STOP doesn't get your money back for the ones you've received
without actually signing up though!

Who is it btw ? - and if the company try to say you signed up via a
website, tell them they need to be able to prove that to satisfy their
obligations under the Data Protection Act, and that you're taking them
to court and will require the site logs to verify the signup - and that
the destruction of the logs will destroy their case.

Sadly, this blatant THEFT is virtually ignored by anyone in authority
due to the small individual amounts - which can add up to a massive sum
over a lot of defrauded non-customers.

Write to Orange CS Director and request an audit trail proving that you
subscribed to the said services.

Make it clear that if he is unable to provide the requested trail, you
will involve the Police WRT a fraud investigation.

If the charges are dodgy, I can guarantee they'll back down immediately.

I had to call an 0870 number to talk to the company involved. Its the second
time something
like this has happened. The first time i spoke again on a number im charged
lots to speak to them for
and got a refund. To be fair as soon as the person took my number she said
instantly "im very sorry
we have made a mistake!" and took my details for a refund. She also seemed
to make it for a couple pounds
more I guess to make up for the call to them. However its just annoying that
I have to deal with them and
that orange just wont block these messages when I have requested it.

Guess ill be moving to T-Mobile once my contract is over.

The company was http://www.splashmobile.com/

Who to be fair instantly said "we have made a mistake". However I still had
to call a 0870 number
and I don't see why I cant just block things like these. Orange customer
services don't listen to "no im telling
you I haven't signed up to anything!".

I wish they had a system so that to accept messages from a short code we had
to send it a message first.

Also, how do you stop if your network won't allow you to SEND to the
number you are receiving from?
