Bin it and go with THREE or Tmobile, just plug the adapter in to your PC -
no need for a phone.

If it's a 2G line:
There's a couple of "extras" you can add, one is £1 and switches off the
GPRS meter until midnight that night, or for £5 they'll switch off the
meter for a week (I suspect, midnight at the end of the 7th day of
operation). Without these extras, it's a bit pricey at £4/Mbyte.

If it's a 3G line, I don't know...

You propose that he spends more money to achieve what he already can
with his current equipment? Strange suggestion.

For heavier use you can get the £1 for all you can eat for the rest of
that day deal. Get it by calling 450 and ordering the relevant "extra".

For setting up the phone you should read up on it, it's fairly easy.

Over the course of a month that would work out quite expensive.

I'd go along with the other poster and look at one of the dedicated
mobile broadband options with the USB modem. I looked into Voda, Three
and T-Mobiles last week. For the coverage I wanted I went with
T-Mobile - I saw it working where I needed access. 20 quid a month and
sold as unlimited but T&Cs state 3GB fair use. and came with free
modem. Have been very impressed with download speeds.

I've been looking at the CarphoneWarehouse T-mobile £20/month (24
months) with £120 cashback. This works out at £15/month over the period.

Simon.

That's the one. Looks a good offer at the mo - doubtless if you wait
better ones will come along. But for what's needed it does for now.
