Default jabra headset on pc?

Hi there I want to get my bluetooth headset working on my pc.

I use Windows xp sp2.

I have a Jabra BT250v and a usb bluetooth dongle (no manual or cd). In
the Jabra manual there is the following question and answer:

Q. Will Jabra BT250v work with laptops, PCs, and PDAs?

A. Jabra BT250v will work with devices that are compliant with
Bluetooth version 1.1 or
higher specifications and support the headset and/or hands-free
profile(s).

However I can't get it to work. Has anybody else done this? How do I
find out the bluetooth version of my dongle? (so to speak )

Thanks

I've just seen this so hope you get to see my reply.
Firstly, XP does not support bluetooth audio 'out of the box'.
I have got a Jabra BT200 working on my XP Pro SP2 though.
What you need to do is firstly fully uninstall any existing
installation you have made for the headset. To make sure this has been
absolutely effective, because windows rarely does a proper job, check
the device manager to make sure that there are no remaining parts of
your set up. Further, download 'Registry Mechanic' from:-
http://www.vnunet.com/vnunet/downloa...istry-mechanic
Run it to make sure all is OK after your uninstall.

Now get hold of another bluetooth stack. You may have been provided
with one if you have a bluetooth dongle. The Toshiba one is good - you
might find it on the Net.
Once you have got hold of this you need to DELETE the Microsoft
bluetooth stack from the registry. Google for instuctions on precisely
how to do this. It is not difficult. Then install the new bluetooth
stack.
If you try to install the new stack without deleting the microsoft one
first the installation is unlikely to work.

When I switch on my Jabra headset, in the vicinity of my PC, it
registers automaticaly. It works very well.
