Default LG Chocolate on Orange - Unlocked?

I bought an LG Chocolate on an Orange contract from OSPS. However, I hate
the phone and want to sell it and use the contract SIM in my old phone. Put
an O2 SIM into the LG and it seemed to recognise the network, like it does
with the Orange SIM provided. Does this mean the phone is unlocked? I would
like to sell it as so on eBay, but I don't have Vodafone, T-mobile or Virgin
SIMs etc. to test it with.

Yes, if it displays O2 - UK it's unlocked.
