LG KP202 question

I have the above phone. It suits my needs admirably EXCEPT for one feature;
you have to open it or press a side button to see if it's switched on or
not. I need to be able to see at a glance whether it's on or off on the
exterior screen, not necessarily with a light of course. The manual doesn't
mention this and the helpline people say no because this would flatten the
battery. You could do this with my previous phone though (the LG F2250) so
this doesn't really hold water.

Anyone know if this is possible?
