Default Massive spam to my vodafone number, but sourced as emails rather thanSMS

Hi, I have this ridiculous situation with Vodafone now where after
more than a year, they cannot work out where I am receiving spam
emails as sms in my phone. Some days I get dozens and vodafone are
charging me 10p for each one. I must have had over a 1000 quid charged
to my account on this garbage by now.

I reckon they are coming in via mobile-alert.com, somehow my number
xxxxx-xxxxxx@mobile-alert.com is in some spam list and the incoming
spam never stops, it is the usual porn, fake watches, penis extensions
etc, NOT premium SMS service content that could be stopped via normal
means.

There is no reply number in the messages and in my bill they show up
as Text Info Messages with no source number.

Anyone else had this or anyone have an idea on how to stop it without
changing my phone number which would be extrmely inconvenient ?

Mark

Can't you close your mobile-alert account, or at least set it to divert all
messages to some other (junk) email account?
Why are you getting charged for receiving SMSs?
Are the message you receive the actual Spam, or just a message to say you
have received an email?

Hi Mark,

This seems a little strange and different from the normal reverse text
queries we get. I think we need to take a look at your account to try
to find out where they come from and how to get them stopped for you.

We have a system that can give us details about text messages received
to your phone and we should be able to use this to find out some more
information about the company you're getting the texts from.

If you send us an e-mail using our online contact us form in our
website help section, we can take a look for you. If you include the
code FIT135 somewhere in the body of your e-mail, this will come to us
here and we can help.

A question you may be able to answer though is why don't Vodaphone allow
me to block all incoming reverse charged SMS messages? Apparently
T-mobile will provide their customers with this really useful facility.
