Default MMS broken since porting number in (T-Mobile)

I recently signed up to a T-Mobile contract with a couple of 3G phones,
and have been able to send and receive picture messages fine.

A couple of days ago I ported in my numbers from Orange (having waited
on hold for over 1 hour to get the PAC numbers they failed to send the
first time). Now when I receive an MMS I no longer get the picture but
get a legacy SMS with "You've got a Picture Message from ..... View it
once within 14 days at http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/pmcollect....."
Annoyingly the picture messaging site apart from unnecessary framesets
doesn't appear to work with Pocket IE - WTF!

Spoke with T-Mobile CS yesterday and spent 10 mins playing with various
phone settings, but gut feeling is it's much more likely to be
something at the network end.

Anyone got any thoughts on the likely cause so that I can nudge the CS
in to looking at the right area.

FWIW in the last 2 weeks when I've had to phone Orange and T-Mobile CS,
I've spent typically 30mins on hold waiting for an Orange Tubby to
become available, and less than 1 min each time with T-Mobile - Chalk
and Cheese!

Rufus.

Have you sent any since you ported?

With Virgin who use Tmobiles network you need to send one to activate
mms, otherwise you get the 'you've been sent a picture message' text.

Rob, good call! Sent an MMS, and then received an automated "Welcome"
one back from T-Mobile and a test message from SWMBO has also been
correctly flagged as a proper MMS.

Only snag now is that the phone won't download anything more than the
MMS headers "Unable to receive your message(s). Your message
notification(s) will remain in the Inbox". Suspect that might be down
to the mucking around with the settings that I did over the phone with
T-Mobile to try and get it working in the first place.

Rufus (hastily logging on the Modaco to find the settings repository).
