Default Mobile Outlet Cashback

Anyone out there with experience of Mobile Outlet Cashbacks?

Are they reliable or am I likely to get my fingers burned?

As in, you failed to meet the terms and conditions of the contract, you
mean? Or what?

Duh. He means the obvious. You send the claim in, meeting the Ts & Cs, they
deny your claim on some unreasonable pretext and then refuse to negotiate,
or they say they never received the claim. It happens all the time and some
vendors are worse than others.

Well it might be obvious to you but it isn't to us . You have quoted
at least two reasons why it might be he had problems . I'd like to
hear the real reason and not some theory as to what it might be

Oh hi

Was about 3 years ago. Something in the T&Cs was a bit vague - so I
called them, endlessly to confirm what it meant. They didn't answer,
said they'd check and call back. Eventually told me what they wanted -
I did that.

No cashback.

They sent back a copy of the T&Cs with one of the contradictory bits
highlighted.

So, maybe my fault somehow, but far too much hassle - I've just kept
an eye out for basic good contracts since. There business model is
based on people not getting their cashback.

I nearly got burned - when I was sending my phone4u claim in, I read the
bit about "any failed or missed or invalid claim invalidates all future
claims" etc etc.

Just as I was sticking it in the envelope, I saw that, over the page, on
its own, completely randomly and for no reason, was the signature and
date section.

I wonder how many people invalidate a couple of £hundred of cashback
because of that?

Avoid, avoid, avoid, your fingers will be skinned.

See these threads :

The only people who appear to be getting their cashbacks are those who
have a bit of something about them and launch Small claims court
claims.

If you haven't already ordered, take this as fair warning.

Can't you "serve" the claim in some way? If you've met the Ts & Cs
then can they choose not to pay out? Sounds like a job for the small
claims court to me. To be honest, this is why I've never used a
cashback contract, although I'm tempted.

I have recieved my previous cashback claims wth no problem (but with phone calls charged @ premium rate reminding themobileoutlet to send me my cashback cheque). However recently they have not sent me my final 2 successful cashbacks. I have sent then numerous emails and was put on hold for an hour before they just cust me off. They seem to be absolutely useless and I recommend e2save, dont ever buy a single thing from themobileoutlet.

Default mobile outlet

can i just say untill you know what is going on stop having a go at the mobile outlet like any company they have there ups and downs. so what they have been having a few problems at he min with cashback you will all get paid in due course. i have every faith in them and am not woried one little bit. the cash back department are only e-mail based and they have a back log of 4000 e-mails so this is why they cant answer them and pay your cash back as well. please just be paitent and you will get your cash back you have nothing to worry about. i love my mobile pphones and i all ways get mine from there and i will carry on getting in form there i have never had a delay in my cash back before untll they hit this rough patch but like i say i will get it in the end thats all that matters. leave them alone.

That is not what appears to be happening, I sent a claim which they
received 14 September. I chased it up to see what was happening and
they said that they could not trace receipt. I gave them details as it
had been sent special delivery, they found it three weeks later and said
I would hear in 28 days. I still do not have the cash back or anything
else from them three months after receipt. I have submitted the next
claim and they have rejected it because the previous claim was not
successful without saying why it wasn't successful but stating that it
is too late to appeal as I am out of time. That is not what I would
expect from an honest company.

They have recently also rejected two other separate claims from members
of my family with the reason given each time that the paper work was
incorrect without stating specifically what was wrong. They are both
absolutely certain that the paperwork was correct and exactly in accord
with the T&C's but how do you check when they don't state exactly what
was supposedly wrong. Again I would suggest that is sharp practice.

If they are inadequately staffed then that is their problem not mine,
they ought to have sufficient staff to run the business efficiently.
Perhaps it is now proving to be a vicious circle as people who don't get
answers to their queries will tend to write again. How long do you
think is acceptable without replying I have been waiting a couple of
months is that acceptable?

I had no complaints in the past which is why we have four contracts with
them but they have defaulted on three of them which does not look good
for the future. Just wait to your next claim is due and se what
happens.

Re: mobileuser

Who are you ? Why should we believe you ?
What's your connection with Mobile Outlet ?
If 'none', how come you seem to have inside info ?

I've had REAL problems with the mobileoutlet. Only went with then due
to a nice phone I wanted but deeply regretting it now. I've had about
5 12month free contract with simply3g that I've never had any problems
with so thought these schemes were actually ok. But no. I had to chase
them for the first cashback. I sent it registered post but they didn't
accept it so it was held by royal mail for a week and then delivery re-
attempted - which was successful , but too late for the cashback .
Fought for a fwe months and got it through. In the meantime - vodafone
kept switching me to online billing - so they don't send a paper bill
by default. So I didn't have them all. No problem though - called
themobileoutlet twice and a print of the online bill would be fine.
Yes, fine. Called vodafone regarding the bills - advised I could get
online - and they should be fine for any redemption purposes. Sent
them in with a covering letter saying I had spoken to themobileoutlet
twice and they had said prints were ok. Get an email back saying they
don't accept them. Heard nothing since. Surpise?!?!? Hmmm ...

If they fob you off for long enough they don't get out of pocket. What
a great business model. And the call centre is now in India where they
can't help with any cashback claims. It's a scam. Try simply3g unless
you're in a really poor 3g reception area. Never had a problem - they
even email me to say the cashback has been approved. themobileoutlet?
flush them down the personal convenience outlet!
