Default Mobile Phone with Auto/Time Power on/off

I was just wondering if anyone knows of any current or old mobile phone
models that had the feature of being able to set an on and off time for the
phone on a timer or scheduler. I think some older Panasonic models supported
this.

Does anyone know if there are any models that support a auto on-off time
that can be set differently for weekdays and weekends?

I can't think of any phones that could be automatically switched on and off
at preset times but there are quite a few phones out there with a timed
profile feature which might suit you just as well (depends on what you want
to do really). Your best bet would be a windows mobile or a symbian
smartphone. They'll either have this feature built-in or you you'll be able
to add it via a third party application. I'm pretty sure that some
dumbphones have this built-in as well but don't know which ones.

I don't know, but maybe some older phones could be run from a charger
without a battery actually in the phone, then put a timer on the mains
connection instead

(I used to use on old Motorola mr30 on the car kit with the battery
off, as otherwise it sometimes overheated and cut off the signal)

That is a good idea. I was thinking of that too, but I have not come
across any phones that could be made to work with just the charger and not
battery within them.

Does anyone know of any other old mobiles that were able to work without a
battery in them, but connected just to their charger?

The Blackberry 8707v (and possibly other BBs) have an Auto On/Off
facility. Allows you to set weekday and/or weekend on and off times.

If you put Phone Technician on a Palm Treo (I am talking of a Treo
such as the 650 with the Palm OS not the 750 which runs on a Microsoft
OS) then you will have this functionality.
