Which mobile phone can bar inbound/outbound calls for a specific number?

Some advice needed here? My wife is receiving calls from a person
whom she does not wish to speak with. The mere fact that the call is
received is upsetting her. However, she also compounds the problem by
sometimes phoning this person! (Don't try to understand why - wierd
situation!).

I want to buy a mobile phone where it is possible to put a specific
bar on calls from this mobile number AND bar outbound calls to that
number.

It has to be a function of the phone, not the mobile network, (since
we are not in the UK).

Don't worry about her removing the bar - she cannot read English.

Any advice is much appreciated for this unusual situation.

You could stop her from dialling it by using a Nokia that has
fixed dialling, I'm not sure if other companies do this kind
of feature, a lot of companies use this on their phones so
that only the help desk or reception can be called for
example. As for barring incoming calls, I don't think that's
a phone feature, I'm only aware of the samsung D500 having a
feature whereby it can block text messages from certain
people, and then it's only at a phone level, the phone just
automatically deletes messages from that number.

To bar the outgoing calls, look for an option like 'fixed dialling' or
'closed user group'. I *think* that most phones provide this option,
controlled by PIN2 - although personally I have never tried it.

What I have tried however, is blocking imcoming calls from certain numbers
(blacklist) or only allowing calls from certain numbers (whitelist). I have
only seen this option on SE phones and it works very well - you can even set
it by profile. If the call is not 'allowed' the phone automatically rejects
the call (I think it also notifies you that it has done so).

SE is the manufacturer to go for it you need these options.

If you buy a smartphone you can install 3rd party software to do whatever
you like with certain numbers.

Look up Autopilot and Advanced Call Manager both excellent pieces of
software.
