Default Motorola A780 on Orange

Hello,

I'm looking at getting a new phone, and I quite like the look of the
Motorola A780, not least of all because it runs Linux. I can find
unlocked, or on Vodaphone or O2, but on Orange. Does anyone know where I
can find an A780 on Orange, or failing that, can anyone suggest
alternate Linux smartphones on Orange.

Thanks!

Paul

Hi Paul

I too liked the look of this phone - one of the first with a built in
gps receiver for sat nav.

Unfortunately, I needed to be able to change Word and Excel, and this
phone allows just read only, so I went for Windows Smartphones instead.

Why not get some other phone on Orange via say www.reestitmutton.co.uk
or www.mobilechecker.com (I always use OSPS or e2save) and just put the
Orange sim in an unlocked A780.

If you buy on ebay and want sat sav, be careful which version you are
buying!

You can't because Orange don't range it. There aren't any phones in the
Orange range that run Linux.

Thanks both of you for your input. Having read some of the other posts
on this NG, I'm seriously thinking of leaving Orange anyway. Lots of
research to do, I think.

Thanks again,

Paul
