Default MWG Zinc II

Anyone own one of these? They seem to be a v. good price (199) from
Expansys) for a smartphone with GPS. Reviews seem favourable but what are
they like to live with? Is the screen any good in direct sunlight?

I've had one for just over a week (got it from Expansys on their "Friday
Deal" for GBP179) and still getting to know it. That said:

The build quality is good and solid with a very nice finish.
The device is large and quite heavy (at least compared to things like the
Touch Diamond), but of course it has a keyboard. Speaking of which, the
keyboard is pretty average. Not much feedback and the layout is unusual in
terms of key combinations. Still worth using for emails and long texts
though.
Response is very good, seems to be the quickest WM6.1 I've tried yet.
I'm pretty happy so far with mine and what I've loaded on it: Flexmail, SPB
Power Shell and Tomtom 7

The screen is just about unreadable in direct sunlight even on max
brightness. You have to shade it, or I've seen anti-glare screen protectors
mentioned but not tried one.
With an Orange sim the answerphone icon does not appear, instead you get a
strange text message. I have seen work arounds mentioned but not tried them
as I'm now using an O2 sim on which answerphone works as it should.

All in all I'd say they are good value for money. Time will tell if there is
any support available anywhere, if I'm unlock enough to need it!

Mike

They are a good price, but the screen issue is a big turn-off for me.

Thanks for the advice
