Mobile Mail is the killer app, I ended up late for work cos the battery was
flat and my alarm never went off.

I use the Yahoo!GO Mail instead, you don't need the app on all the time and
it seems to receive them fairly quickly or just use the built-in email
client and have it set to retreive you mail every 5, 10, 15, 30, or 60 mins
within a time interval (I had mine set to not receive during the night when
asleep).

Usually I 'pause' my Mobile Mail overnight as I have the desktop on
and Outlook checks every minute anyway. At the moment I seem to use a
couple of battery bars during the day, so just switch the phone off
overnight and then switch it back on in the morning and put it on
charge between getting up and going out to work to top the battery up
to full.

What's the GPRS usage like if you receive one email header every 30 mins?

Don't know and don't care, I've got 3's X-Series Silver (1GB of Data Usage).

I wish I could get the PoC to connect for a night. Just got one of
these today (as an "upgrade" from an A1000) and all it does is sit
there and say "sim registration failed" (paraphrased). It's got the
latest V3 firmware that 3 allow, although there is a more recent one
available from Nokia.

It did connect initially, then again for a few minutes until I had the
temerity to send a text, which is still in the outbox an hour later.

I'm putting the (100% working) SIM back into the (100% working )A1000
and this PoC can sit in the box if it doesn't start working soon. Or
may be I'll just use it as a radio as that's the only thing that
works!

I got the "phone" free and a £150 account credit which pays my monthly
fees for a few months, so I haven't lost anything, but it's extremely
annoying - especially after being lie^mislead by the upgrade team
again. This was meant to be an E61 - confirmed twice during the
upgrade call, the wrong phone (the N73) was delivered, when I
complained they said their notes said N73, oh and the E61 has suddenly
gone out of stock - apart from the TomTom one that costs £100...
strange that.

Sorry, rant over.
