I've had my N73 for about three weeks now and at the weekend the end has
fallen off the joystick, meaning that there is only the little plastic spike
remaining, needless to say this is not ideal, and I don't have the bit that
fell off.
Is there a way to get this fixed? I bought it from O2 online. I'm wary of
sending it away for repair, firstly because I've only had it for a few weeks
and it shouldn't break already, and I know when they are sent for repair
they quite often replace them with refurbished models, which given my phone
is only three weeks old is likely to be much older than my phone which I
spent a lot of money to buy from new.

My K750i suffered a similar fate after about 3 days - joystick just stopped
working! I went into a random O2 shop and they gave me another (new) one.
If you bought it online your best bet is to go to a Nokia service center,
otherwise they'll make you send it to them it will get lost and you will be
out of pocket. However go into the nokia service center and they'll do all
the losing for you

I went into the O2 shop on Northumberland St, Newcastle, and they were less
than helpful. They basically said "you've damaged it, it's your fault, so
**** off" (I paraphrase a little).
They said if I wasn't happy with it I could call customer services, I did,
and they are going to send a courier out with a new N73 for me tomorrow and
do a doorstep swap.

That happened to my N73, pulled it out of my jeans pocket & a piece of lood
thread snagged it & whipped it off!!
I super-glued mine back on and it is fine. If you do this only use a tiny
bit of glue and wait for it to completely set. Mine stuck a bit to start
with, but after an hour of wiggling it in all directions once it had set,
its is fine.
