Default N82 from O2 Stores - branded software?

Hi all

I've decided to go for the N82 on O2; it seems that O2 stores have
largely discontinued it, but my local one might be able to get me one
in.

The manager there thought that the firmware was Nokia Original, rather
than one that O2 have "branded" (mucked up), but promised to check for
me. I've seen various references to O2 having mucked up some N82
firmwares online - does anyone know whether they've sold any with
original firmware?

Cheers

This was a weird one.
Dec 07 I saw N82 listed on O2 website as "coming soon"
Jan 08 it seemed to be available for buying/contract as per norm
BUT by Feb 08 it had been removed and on enquiring over the phone I was told
it was no longer available.
Surprised you found one (on O2 anyway)

Why were they pulled so fast?

Cannot remember how I did it but my N95 had O2 software. Downloaded
something to convince it that it was a generic phone and updated to
latest N95 generic software. All works but does void the warranty.
