Is that really correct? I assume it's pence and not pounds? Even so

Correct.
From 1st June they're doing 15mb a day for £1, but also
launching a new data pack that will give you a fixed amount of
data for a fixed amount, like web n walk, it's not been
released how much it's going to cost or how much you'll get
yet though.

£2.35 for 1Mb on a standard Voda tariff seems quite good. I've got a
Motorola v3b on BT Fusion (which uses Vodafone as their GSM carrier)
and they charge about over £4 for 1Mb.

Yes, and I'm really p****d off with Vodafone. Used the 3g+ datacard in
Spain, thinking it was about £10 per MB with a 10kb increment - bad but not
as bad as I found when I got back, they charge a min of 100kb (i.e. a
QUID! ) every time you connect. About 10 times as much as it cost me last
Oct when using the same card in South Africa. They must have changed the min
increment without telling me the b**t**ds. Complaint winging its way to CS
pretty soon, though I doubt it will do any good. Steer clear of Vodafone if
you use data.
I'm off to Tmobile, the data charges are waaaaaaaaaaaaay less and they
charge in 1 kb increments when roaming.

I have a Nokia e61. When looking for a network Voda was cheaper than
3 but Voda's data charges were a bit irksome. If it was a phone I
wasn't going to use on t'internet much then fine, I'd do Voda, but an
e61 is online all the time making use of all of it's features. It
connects to my WiFi network at home and when at work or elsewhere it's
checking my emails every five minutes, updating weather reports,
surfing t'internet and doing all kinds of things.
£2 for 1Mb on Voda would just be stupid with that kind of handset.

But surely you can tell the N95 not to do all that stuff when it's out
of WiFi range?

You can certainly tell it to only check in home network, as I can with my N70.
But I'm on T-mobile so that option is good for me.
At £2/MByte, why have voda still got any customers who want more than voice/sms
on their phone?

All of our deals are subject to taking out a new number with the chosen
