Default NEC 338

I have a NEC 338 on the "3" network and I am upgrading to a later
phone but want to transfer my personal data. I have the appropriate
CD and cable but the software doesn't detect the phone.

There are no directions on how to do this in the main phone handbook
and the instruction card which came with the connection kit is
unintelligible as it is very badly translated from the Japanese (or
whatever language) and the screenshot illustrations are actually in
Japanese.

Can some kind person with a knowledge of the NEC 338 tell me how to
download my data to my PC which is a late model running Windows XP.
The stuff I need to download is not just the phonebook but video and
audio files and ringtones.

The Three helpline doesn't seem to support the data cable process and
I wonder if anyone has a number for NEC themselves in the UK

If your ringing tones etc have been downloaded then it's unlikely you'll
be able to move them as they will be DRM protected.

I can't help with the rest of it I'm afraid.
