Guys 'n' Gals,
I've had a K750i pretty much since it was new and I discovered last
night that a button has fallen off. I still have it but it won't clip
back in and stay there so I'm faced with two or three choices.
1) Glue the button back in. This might work for a bit but sounds a bit
flaky to me. I reckon I'd have to use some silicone-rubber type stuff
(bathroom sealant?) so that there was some chance of it adhering to the
membrane below. Whether it would last any time is another matter - and
gluing it might mess up the membrane below so it might make a proper
repair later more expensive.
2) Send it to K&N in Banbury who will charge 47.50 for the repair.
3) Fix it myself using some after-market buttons and appropriate tools,
all of which I think I can get off eBay fairly easily. The slight
trouble I have with this is that my buttons are silver (good) but the
only ones I've seen are black (not good).
4) The Vodafone contract is over so I can upgrade - but I doubt whether
I'd get a particularly decent phone on a 20/m contract that rarely
incurs additional charges.
Any thoughts or other suggestions?
