Default New Vodafone Voicemail

Does anyone have any information about the new vodafone voicemail
serivice?
(not vodafone mail)

One of my phones has a new voicemail service, different voice,
slightly
different menu's and supporting icon alert notification of messages.
Is this
being rolled out to all customers?

Yeah, it's called next generation voicemail, mine got moved
over to it a few weeks ago, I called because I couldn't get in
to it late one night.

Everyone is supposed to be moving over it it, basically they
said it's upgrading the really really old servers they had,
from what I could make out you don't have a mailbox number
anymore like you used to, you just divert all calls to 121
from the handset, to dial in from another phone it's 07836 191
191 for everyone.

However, if you preferred the old service and would like an
individual voicemailbox number you could sign up to
vodafone.net, free email account, free fax and you still get a
separate mailbox number. Same charges to call it.

Oh, and on another note, they no longer charge you when
someone leaves you a message if you're abroad, which is a bonus.

Thanks for the reply. Looks much better except the woman's voice is
slighly odd!!
I noticed that when you divert to 121 it stays as 07836 121 121 in a
similar way that orange's diverts to 07973 100 123.
Out of interest have you got the icon alert to work? When i select it
and leave a message i dont't seem to get an icon (or text or call)
maybe its not yet set-up properly?!

I signed up with vodafone.net when they told me about it, the
icon works perfectly on that, very handy free email account
too, never get any spam and no adverts or banners.

I've just joined Vodafone last week and have this new voicemail (although
have no experience of the previous one). I've set mine to send me the icon
and it works fine on my Nokia N73.

I've had the works Vodafone for a while with Vodafone.net voicemail on
it and recently bought an Asda mobile sim for another phone which has
the new Voicemail on it (Asda use Vodafone as their provider).
