Am going to New Zealand for a month. Anyone know of the best place to get a
cheap local sim, please?

I got a pack from a Vodafone shop which are everywhere in NZ if you e-mail
me at david dot chap at btinternet dot com I will forward the list. Quite
cheap to do, I bought $50 and it lasted me for ages.

There's a rental shop at the airport (well at least there is at Auckland airport). You can rent a SIM or just go to a vodafone shop anywhere and buy a prepay SIM. Vodafone is your only real bet as Telecom NZ are on CDMA rather than GSM.
