Carphone Warehouse has shut down OneStopPhoneShop, the online retail
business it bought only two years ago.
The company spent £15m buying the business in March 2005, then the second
biggest online retailer, from Nick Edwards and Lee Morris, of which £6.7m
was deferred.
Carphone's online and off-the-page businesses - OneStop, e2Save,
ThePhoneSpot and even Carphonewarehouse.com - have been under intense
scrutiny from the networks since the start of the year because of high
levels of low-spending customers, customers downgrading tariffs and high
churn.
