Please, does anyone know where I can a couple of Nokia 3510s in good
condition?

sorry I cannot assist but would like to ask you a q as you may know........

my 3510 shows a small car icon on the lower middle screen. There is no ref
to this icon in the manual. Do you know what this refers to.

well I don't know, this morning the icon has now changed to what looks like
a mic/headset which also does not appear in the manual.................time
for the bin maybe.

The phone thinks it has got something plugged into it, e.g. a headset.
There is a short-circuit in the base of the phone, most likely through
water damage.

Same thing happened on my mother in laws phone, did a phone reset and it
cleared it
