Default Nokia 6230i replacement

My 6230i is looking a bit scruffy now and I am due a free replacement from
Orange.

I like my 6230i and would like a similar phone.

What is considered to be the successor to the 6230i?

Well I talked them into a N95 for free, with a £30/month for 18 months
new contract.

I previously had a 6230i (and still use it abroad because I can't unlock
my N95). The N95 is a worth, if a little big, success and if you like
playing with all the modern up-to-date technical innovations then this
is the one for you.

You could of course just get another 6230i - they are still good phones!
I replaced my 6230 with a 6230i a while back.

Tony

I had a 6230i, and have replaced it with the Sony Ericcson K800i, and
although I loved the nokia, wouldn't go back to it, the S/E has so much more
in features without being complicated.

o2 told me the 6233 was the successor, I belived them, and such a load of
rubbish have I ever used! It went back 5 times with faults, 6 new
(refurbished) phones) that's how I have ended up with the Sony Ericcson,
which I am more than happy with.

Looks like an N95 is £250 and they don't offer a 6230i anymore.

Thanks for your opinions.

According to the online shop neither the 6233 or the SE are options. Thanks
anyway.

My generic 6233 has been fine over 17 months, it's probably the best
non qwerty keyboard texting handset I've ever used.

That said it does have some problems that are disguised as heath and
safety issues that I can't stand like the quiet and ascending ring and
SMS tones when set at maximum and lack of backlight when used in a
wired carkit.

Sam.

It was, but is now discontinued by most stores in favour of the 6300 and
the 6301.

What's the reception like? I live in an area with pretty poor reception.

Ask for a Porting Access Code (PAC), let them post it to you and a few
days later they will ring with an offer you can't refuse...

Worked for me :-)

Yes - I had a 6233 for about 2 days. Pile of rubbish. I rejected it
because it can't hold more than 500 contacts. I have about 900.
