I am having problems with Nokia 6233 and the PC Suite.
I am trying to use a Nokia DKU-2 cable. I have the latest version of PC
Suite that contains the DKU-2 drivers according to the Nokia web site.
When I use PC Suite and connect the cable, the phone identifies the
cable and I select “Default mode” on the phone. No problems it seems.
Then the computer indicates a connection and says “Nokia 6233 connected
in non-compatible mode” This means one cannot back up since it looks as
if it is not connected at all.

I could be wrong, but I'm fairly sure that I supplied a 6233 customer
recently with a CA-53 cable, not a DKU-2.
I've got a spare one for a tenner if you're interested.

The DKU-2 is compatible with PC Suite just like the CA-53 so I don't
think that's the issue.

However, looking at the accessories section on the Nokia website, it
does not list the DKU-2 as compatible with the 6233, but it does list
the CA-53 as compatible with 6233, so despite the DKU-2 working with
PC Suite, it looks like it doesn't work with your phone.... you need a
CA-53.

My phone is a different model (N80) but AFAICT "connected in non-compatible
mode" is Nokia PC Suite speak for USB mass storage mode. When I select this
the phone appears as an external drive under Windows.
Can you manually select PC Suite mode on the phone? I get a choice between
PC-suite, mass storage, pictbridge and one other mode which I can't remember
at the moment.

I had that the other day on my n70. I uninstalled ALL my nokia
software/drivers/cable stuff from my pc, and downloaded the latest
version. Turn your phone off and on, install the software and try
again. Somewhere along the line the problem went away.
