Default Nokia CK-7W compatibility.

Hi. I have a CK-7W kit in my car and I'm looking ot change my mobile
network as Orange is fine, except in my house. Ho hum .

Anyway, I thought I would stay with a Nokia because i like the cable
connection to the car kit.

However it turns out that Nokia are a bunch of idiots. None of the N
series phones support a cable connection to the car kit.

They are also telling me that the 6288 will not either. Even though
it's supposed to be a direct upgrade of the 6280 which does support it.

Thank you for contacting Nokia Helpline.

With regard to your email concerning the Nokia 6288, please note as
previously advised that the handset does not support the CK-7W Car kit.

Please don't hesitate to contact us again if you have any further
questions.

With best regards

If I was going to use the bluetooth option on the car kit, I might as
well shop around and get a phone from a different manufacturer.
It strikes me a as a little daft on Nokia's part.

Anyway. Does anyone have a CK-7W and an N73 that they have tried
directly plugging in to the popport cable? Just to see if that works.

TIA.

I had to change from a CARK-126 when I had a 6230 to a CK-7W when I upgraded
to a 6230i as the pop port cable connection would not work with the 6230i.

I didn't bother with the cable and use the bluetooth instead. I miss the
fact that it doesn't charge but I use the car charger instead. I'm quite
happy with the bluetooth as the kit works fine with my other phone (O
SPV600) and my wife's Samsung D600.

I'm getting an N73 next and will just pair it up and go...
